Develops and implements a synchronized approach for the procurement of technology and financial instruments related to energy efficiency and sustainability. This includes developing effective relationships with Network Engineering, Marketing, and EIT as well as Other business owners to identify opportunities and agree upon category tactics to maximize value through effective procurement strategies. Negotiates multi-million dollar complex contracts, evaluating suppliers, defining demand requirements, and maintaining supplier relations through quarterly business reviews. Partners with Government Affairs to influence regulatory policy is critical in maintaining and evolving a competitive services sector that will lower cost and continue to drive value for the TMUS business. Establishes strategic direction, driving operational excellence in the energy and sustainability space. Requires ability to effectively deal with ambiguity and complexity. Ensures Energy, Utility, and Sustainability strategy and spend is shared/received in the format, level of detail, and timing required by all customers, engineering, accounting, investor relations, marketing, and strategic sourcing with documented assumptions. Analyzes performance and trends, identifies opportunities and risks, and proactively communicates to cross-functional teams.
Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively in accordance with SOX and industry best practices .
Lead a reporting and analysis function that delivers actionable information to drive cost savings/avoidance, improve invoice accuracy, and improve overall effectiveness of the Technical Systems and Business Operations group. Prepare and review month-end financials and participate in meetings with Finance discussing variables between budget and actual. Provide review of all accruals and variances before submitted on a monthly basis.

Develop and implement the company’s overarching energy development program. Establish strong relationships and communications with cross functional departments and members in the Field organizations.
Manage a staff of Sourcing Managers: (a) Goal setting and the establishment of rewards and recognition; (b) Conducting performance reviews and coaching sessions; and (c) Career development with training, both internal and external.
Monitor, review and improve the quality and timeliness of the invoice process function of the 3rd party utility bill payer. Analyze, audit and approve energy, natural gas, waste management, and water invoices ensuring compliance with all applicable contracts, tariffs and agreements. Manage regulated utility tariff selection on accounts for most favorable tariff selections
Prepare and review month-end accruals for unpaid invoices, unbilled services and open disputes. Provide analysis and reporting, including explanations of monthly operational variances. Forecast future energy needs and costs.
Suggest process improvements to maximize accuracies and efficiencies. Partners with Technology department to perform audits to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for cost reduction
Perform effectively in an environment of multiple tasks, changing priorities and unexpected changes.
Previous supervisory or management/leadership experience. Ability to transfer knowledge and best practices through mentoring, training, and practical examples to team members.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
Professional business communications skills, both written and verbal.
7 years telecommunications experience including 5 years of energy and sustainable sourcing
Excellent computer/keyboard skills with advance knowledge of Excel, Word and Access or other database software.
Understanding of wireless telecommunications practices with the ability to read and interpret contracts, tariffs and agreements.
Experience in process improvement
Proficient in Business Objects Intelligence queries, report creation/edits and manipulating data with formulas.
