Responsibilities and Duties

As a Cost Accountant, you will act as a liaison between the Plants and Corporate HQ. You will be responsible in the assistance of the cost accounting, month end close, variance analysis, and adhoc projects. Additionally, you will be responsible reporting on KPIs to better track the performance of the plant(s).

Specific duties in this Cost Accountant role include:

  • Support general accounting/analysis functions to improve profitability of the plants and the company. This includes assisting with monthly financial close (preparation and analysis), inventory analysis, monthly obsolesce review/reserve, monthly cycle accounting
  • Provides cost accounting support for assigned location and acts as a liaison between the remote location and Corporate Accounting.
  • Prepares reports and analyses operational performance and budget variances to strengthen cost controls, reduce costs, and increase efficiencies.
  • Standard costing
  • Performs special projects/assists with accounting related responsibilities as directed by the Cost Accounting Manager, Corporate Controller or Operations.
  • Assisting with the testing of internal controls in compliance with SOX control guidelines.
  • Participate in the planning, forecasting and budgeting process
  • Other support includes adhoc analysis and adhoc projects

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for a Cost Accountant with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. You should be highly organized and detail-oriented and possess the ability to effectively work both independently or in a team setting. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Specific requirements for this Senior Cost Analyst/ Accountant position include:

  • S. in Accounting
  • 2+ experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Cost Accounting experience preferred
  • Strong Excel skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
