Scottish Rite (Center of Excellence for Sports Medicine ( ) is seeking a psychologist for an immediate opening to join our hospital-based psychology team. A licensed pediatric psychologist with expertise in pain management, mental health assessment in the context of medical concerns, and an interest in working with athletes and their families is preferred. The psychologist will participate in integrated health care delivery, training, and clinical research.

Pediatric Psychologist: Pain and Sport

The Center of Excellence for Sports Medicine is seeking a pediatric psychologist to work as part of an interdisciplinary team in busy ambulatory care clinics with children and adolescents presenting with: musculoskeletal pain; acute sport injuries, functional pain disorders, concussion, and/or the female athlete triad. This psychologist will participate in integrated care during medical appointments; evaluate prolonged symptom presentation; assist with barriers to return to play, evaluate appropriateness for surgical intervention., and more broadly promote function and rehabilitation. Experience with short term psychological interventions related to pain management, anxiety, performance goals, and return to play is preferred. Experience with rehabilitation psychology preferred. Additionally, the psychologist has various research opportunities within the Center of Excellent for Sports Medicine. Training duties including supervision of Psychology Fellow and participation in weekly didactic seminars.

The Psychology Department provides quality psychological intervention and consultation, in collaboration with the medical team, to improve patient care for children and adolescents with health-related conditions and sport injuries. Psychologists work side-by-side world renowned pediatric orthopedic surgeons; sports medicine physicians, and medical team members to provide care for the whole child. Direct services are provided to TSRHC patients, their families, and caregivers on an inpatient and outpatient basis.
