Opportunities available on our Microbiology team may include:
Job Responsibilities:
Performs testing according to lab policy/procedure and documents testing and laboratory actions to comply with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Identifies source and nature of test problems and makes appropriate recommendations as to course of action.
Applies scientific methods in problem-solving and evaluates new methods and techniques. Assures that quality management criteria are met.
Ensures that quality control are performed and criteria met to adhere to established laboratory policies.
Performs routine instrument maintenance and minor troubleshooting
Trains rotating residents, students, physicians and new lab staff members on laboratory testing procedures.
Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Chemical or Biological Sciences, or Associate’s degree in Laboratory Sciences or Medical Laboratory Science.
MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), MLT(ASCP), M(ASCP) or equivalent certification or eligibility to certify preferred.
Meets all regulatory requirements for high complexity testing.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
One year of experience in a clinical laboratory
Certification or eligibility to certify as MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), MLT(ASCP), M(ASCP)
Education
Bachelor's Degree: Medical Technology (Required)
