Front-End Drupal Developer

CommunicateHealth, Inc. - Remote

We are looking for a Front-End Drupal Developer with genuine enthusiasm for the presentation layer and the ability (and eagerness) to learn new skills on the job. They will be responsible for:

Front-end template development for new web sites and applications
Refinements and new-feature additions to existing client projects
Working closely with our team of designers on in-house deliverables
Communicating recommendations and requirements clearly, both with nontechnical clients and with technical partners

BA in computer science or related field
Ability to write consistent, standards-compliant HTML5/XHTML and CSS
Ability to write JavaScript with and without the use of frameworks such as jQuery
Ability to create efficient and maintainable features with jQuery
Ability to consider edge cases and thoroughly test your own code
Experience implementing responsive templates
Experience designing and developing responsive design websites, converting comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (for PSD to HTML conversion)
Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
Ability to understand CSS changes to have consistent style across platforms and browsers
Ability to translate client needs into specific requirements
Working knowledge of search engine optimization strategies
Attention to detail and production schedules
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently


Familiarity with usability standards and best practices
Experience with the process of user-centered design
Experience developing digital products for audiences with limited (health) literacy skills
Familiarity with public health, health education, and health communication fields
Solid working knowledge of common operating systems and software including iOS for Mac. Comfortable with digital-based work, especially digital project management and collaboration tools and video conferencing.
