DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Municipal Courts currently has a full-time employment opportunity available for a Customer Service Representative who is self-motivated, customer service-oriented, have attention to detail, and possess strong organizational skills. As an official of the Court, your responsibilities may include, but not limited to the following:

Open, sort, file stamp, and distribute U.S. Postal and Courier Service mail.
Process mail and/or e-mail requests for individuals who opt out of appearing in court.
Scan various documents into the Court's case management system for judicial review.
Process payments of cash, check, credit card, and money order in the Court's case management system.
Moderate level of phone/fax/written contact with the general public, attorneys, court staff and law enforcement.
Dissemination of court information as required.
Data entry of court records and transactions.
Rotate to alternate Court locations and/or sections [Clear Lake, Southeast Command Station].
Other administrative and customer service related responsibilities as assigned.
Must submit to annual background checks.
Multiple shifts available.
May include weekends and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS
General office setting. May require long periods of sitting or standing. Some lifting of mail crates or boxes may be required (up to 20 pounds).

Must be able to work any day, shift, weekends and/or holidays as needed. Must be able to travel to other court locations on short notice.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Six months of administrative or customer service related experience is required.

Associate's degree may be substituted for up to two years of experience.

PREFERENCES
Preferences shall be given to the candidates that have the following:

Strong interpersonal skills
Bilingual in Spanish
Proficiency in Window and Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification. The pay range is:
