Background & Purpose of the Job

The Facilities Maintenance Leader will develop and implement overall facilities maintenance strategies within the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) framework that supports the plant strategic plan and overall business objectives, especially focused on critical asset maintenance, plant safety initiatives, and utility usage cost reduction. This position will provide technical supervision and direction for the facilities maintenance technicians while assisting in strategic improvement opportunities and project management.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

The Facilities Maintenance Leader will design and implement a proactive maintenance management system that focuses on proactive preventive maintenance on critical plant equipment, including but not limited to: air compressors, boilers, chillers, dock doors, mixing tanks, steam/condensate return system, and more. This maintenance system will strive to reduce R&M expenses while eliminating breakdowns. The right candidate will work closely with the operations and logistics team for ideal scheduling of asset maintenance. Additionally, a strong partnership with the Training Leader is required for arranging critical skill training, such as NFPA 70E Arc Flash.

  • You’re a strategy guru: You will assist in the creation of the site master plan, defining the activities we must take to ensure we have the capacity to support the strategic plan of the site. You will prioritize key projects that will deliver increased capacity of critical utilities while prioritizing safety, cost reduction, and long-term maintenance upkeep of new assets.
  • You transform data into actions: Using utility usage trends, you will determine the optimal set points and run strategy of our critical equipment. Partnering with our safety leadership, you will launch projects that improve the overall safety of our facility while still allowing for optimal production routes.
  • You’re a culture & change champion: You will challenge the status quo and constantly be identifying better, quicker, and smarter ways to complete a task. You will help foster a culture in which maintenance has a harmonious relationship with operations, logistics, safety, and all other groups. Maintenance will be seen as the champions of teamwork.
What You’ll Need To Succeed

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a similarly related field. Alternatively, an Associate Degree in Industrial Maintenance (or similar) with a minimum of three years in a maintenance leadership role. Experience leading large scale capital projects is a plus. Certifications in HVAC, boiler operation, industrial electronics, plumbing, industrial automation, or similar is preferred.
