As Hypertherm's Director - Global Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) you will be responsible for health and safety program development and deployment, environmental compliance and safety performance management at all Hypertherm facilities globally.

In collaboration with regional, functional, and business teams develop a rolling 5-year safety strategy in support of our corporate strategy and safety vision.

In this role, you will:
Lead a team of EH&S Engineers responsible for maintaining adherence to all applicable environmental, safety and occupational health standards and providing required safety training and certification to associates globally.
Lead the process to benchmark organizations to identify and implement innovations in the deployment of safety initiatives and practices. Provide data-driven insights and trend analyses to inform operational decision-making related to process and capital investments.
Lead our Global Safety Council. In collaboration with operational and functional team leaders, establish best practices and oversee process and tool standardization. Develop Safety Champions across our organization through experiential learning, formal training, and education.
Develop and implement management systems integrating Environmental Health and Safety programs and policies into daily operations. Maintain our OSHA Voluntary Protection Program Star site certification and equivalent programs globally through proactive audit activity and system documentation.
Manage Hypertherm’s Workers Compensation program, including all aspects of insurance case management and follow-up on Associate work-related injuries. Lead regular review of Worker’s Compensation cases with HR Generalists, on-site medical staff, ergonomist, benefits administrators and insurance company representatives to ensure associates are receiving appropriate professional medical care and support.
Ensure safety and environmental compliance with all local, state, federal and international regulations. Oversee and verify all necessary records and certifications of training, recordkeeping, monitoring, reporting, and program management are maintained in support of all EH&S permit conditions.

To be considered, you must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Master's preferred) in a related field (Engineering preferred), and 10 years of Environmental Health and Safety management experience with 5 years in a leadership role with the following:

Experience leading safety programs within a multi-site manufacturing company
Proven experience in Safety Management Systems
Expert knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations and policies
Experience interfacing with all levels of regulatory agencies
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage through impact and influence
Excellent communication skills with all levels of the organization
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Strong analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications:
15 years of progressive experience in safety management including senior leadership of the safety organization at a global, multi-site manufacturing company
OSHA VPP Star certification experience
