Full Job Description
Leverage physics expertise and tools, including satellite remote sensors to test and analyze phenomena, and to support S&T client challenges. Apply advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems and work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members. Apply spectral remote sensing principles and methods to analyze data and solve problems including detecting slight radiometric changes in remote sensor data and quantify and characterize radiometric changes. Utilize the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Day-Night-Band images to extract radiometric measurements and quantify changes in light intensity over time. Collaborate with the scientific community to best understand how to accurately process VIIRS Day-Night Band (DNB) data.
10+ years of experience in a professional work environment
5+ years of experience in spectral remote sensing, image science, statistics, ENVI/IDL, MATLAB, and image processing techniques
Knowledge of radiometry, temporal trending, and pattern-of-life analysis
Ability to work independently
