Job Title: Extraction Lab Tech I
Job Description: The Lab Tech I will be responsible for assisting in product processing and upkeep in our Extraction facility. They will work under the direction of the Lead Extractor and the Extraction Lab Manager to prepare, refine, and extract cannabis materials in order to create a range of products. This individual will support extraction operations, maintain a clean and organized workspace all while exceeding quality control standards. This position requires close attention to detail, the ability to handle physically demanding work, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. This position must adhere to Company safety policies and procedures as well as state regulations including but not limited to recordkeeping, inventory, and waste disposal.
Essential Duties:
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and measures for compliance with quality, health, safety, and regulatory requirements put in place by the company and state.
- Execute job properly and safely, keeping safety at the forefront of mind at all times.
- Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and operation of extraction equipment.
- Prepare plant material to be extracted and fill out traceability paperwork accordingly.
- Maintain a clean and orderly environment, cleaning and organizing the workspace on a frequent basis.
- Clean, organize, and store extraction,processing, and related equipment.
- Assist as needed with weighing, labeling, packaging, product logging, and recording of all measurable data to remain compliant with state and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Must be minimum of 21 years of age
- Willingness to learn is paramount
- Experience in the Cannabis Industry preferred
- Strong work ethic, self- motivated and ability to work independently
- Great attitude with a teamwork mentality
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate with superiors and team members
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for an 8-10 hour shift
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds independently
- Ability to use fine motor skills to operate machinery correctly, precisely, and efficiently
Environmental Factors:
- Exposure to plant particulates through skin contact and inhalation including odor, that may cause allergic reaction to some
- Exposure to compounds that may be flammable, corrosive, and hazardous
- Exposure to extreme temperatures while working in freezers or coolers
- General background noise that may be loud
- This position will also require you to be working in a C1D1 room with a hydrocarbon extraction machine.
