POSITION SUMMARY

The HR Supervisor performs advanced-level Human Resources activities and partners with different stakeholders to help build and deliver key business strategies. There is a strong focus on talent selection, people development, structure, process and culture. Key responsibilities include, but not limited to; employee relations, talent sourcing, development of policy/procedure implementation and compliance, training and development, performance management and compensation. Facilitates a collaborative working environment and implements appropriate change management initiatives. These responsibilities are delivered through a team of 2 full time employees, 3 interns and 1 indirect report.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for oversite of the HR Function in the Propulsion Technical Center (PTC). This includes ensuring common communication, policies and practices among the five businesses.
Responsible for providing comprehensive Generalist support within all facets of Human Resources for all Corporate and Turbo Systems employees at the PTC.
Responsible for day to day supervision of the HR generalist who provides comprehensive Generalist support within all facets of Human Resources to all Emission & Thermal Systems (ETS) employees at the PTC and the Marshall, MI tech center. This Generalist reports on a dotted line basis to the Vice President Human Resources for ETS.
Responsible for remotely coordinating all facets of Human Resources for the 30 employees of the potential BorgWarner Portland acquisition through a non-HR professional indirect report and the HR Link shared services team.
Responsible for coordinating common training programs for the building and working with government relations and the BUs to secure training grants from the state.
Effectively communicates, establishes and maintains effective employee relations with all levels of management and employees.
Responsible for managing effective co-op and internship programs with key university relations, and planning for development of internal talent though those programs.
Recommends common best practices and new approaches for policies and procedures to continually improve the efficiency of the Human Resources department and services performed.
Provide support to management and associates during the annual Talent Management process, organizational review and salary planning process.
Support the implementation of the BW Culture Survey Action Items including communication to employees, conduction action planning sessions and implementation of action plans.
Provide key performance indicators on talent acquisition, performance management, compensation and turnover
Ensure HR policies and practices are effectively communicated and compliant with all applicable federal and state law/regulations to minimize company’s exposure to legal risks.
Support PTC special events and activities.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Safety and Health – Responsible for completing required safety training, reporting and correcting any unsafe practices as appropriate, completing work activities in a safe manner, and complying with safety and health requirements for respective position.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QULIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (Minimum Qualifications)

Bachelor degree in Human Resources or related discipline required.
Minimum 8+ years’ experience of related work experience with increasing responsibility.
Demonstrated ability in a broad range of Human Resources functions, such as recruiting, performance management, employee relations, etc.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple projects.
Must be a team player with strong people skills; able to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
Proactive, decisive and able to work independently on a broad variety of subjects.
Must demonstrate strong communication (verbal, written and non-verbal), listening, analytical and problem solving skills.
Energetic with a strong sense of urgency and accuracy.
