Summary & Key Responsibilities
This position is the primary contact for State Auto Farm & Ranch agency partners for initial inquiries and problems through a multitude of communication channels. The ability to utilize independent decision-making skills, within the context of State Auto Farm & Ranch guidelines and procedures, is required to provide timely support and assistance. Additional duties include, but may not be limited to, collaboration with the Farm & Ranch Underwriting and Sales teams to provide support for large agency operations, assist with book rolls, quote comparisons, and large account quoting, as well as general endorsement processing, in accordance with department service standards.
This position needs to be located in our Indianapolis office.
Utilize various State Auto and third party systems to respond to incoming telephone inquiries and resolve Farm & Ranch level I service issues for State Auto agency partners.
Provide follow up resolution to agency partners via outgoing calls and correspondence templates.
Process Farm & Ranch book rolls.
Complete Farm & Ranch quote comparisons for prospective agencies & large account quoting for current agencies as needed.
Process Farm & Ranch endorsements and policy rewrites.
Provide processing and support as identified and developed for large agency operations.
Meet Farm & Ranch Department Service Level Agreements.
Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 2 years of previous call center, customer service, or insurance work experience required.
General knowledge of property and casualty insurance operations preferred.
Communication and Collaboration Skills
Oral: The Farm & Ranch Customer Service Representative must have solid verbal and interpersonal skills, which should be demonstrated in accurate and professional responses to inquiries received. The associate must utilize active listening skills in order to comprehend and respond in a clear, concise manner.
Written: The Farm & Ranch Customer Service Representative must have accurate and professional written communication skills. These skills should be demonstrated in clear, concise, and grammatically correct correspondence to internal and external customers.
Technical Knowledge: The Farm & Ranch Customer Service Representative must possess accurate knowledge of basic internet functions, as well as Microsoft Office and Google applications. The ability to learn and function on additional platforms is required. Knowledge of farming and ranching operations is preferred.
Problem Solving: The Farm & Ranch Customer Service Representative must be able to quickly and accurately discern what is being communicated to them from the customer. They must then promptly identify possible solutions using analytical and problem solving skills based on the inquiries routed to them while being observant of current Department Service Level Agreements.
