Clifford Beers is a mental health clinic serving children and families. Our mission is to provide integrated services addressing mental, physical, and social determinants in order to improve health, resiliency and quality of life for children, families and communities

PURPOSE:
The Data Coordinator will carry out activities that support the research team at Clifford Beers Clinic (CBC). In order to provide the most effective therapeutic services for children and their families, CBC has implemented a data collection system that allows the research team to look at treatment outcomes and service practices. The quality of our data and analysis is imperative, and meticulous data entry and control play essential roles in the department. Internal and external reports and publications as well as grant applications are based on our data. But more importantly, data are used to assess treatment outcomes so that professional staff may continue to provide the best possible (evidence based) care to our clients. The data coordinator works with the data ‘from beginning (i.e. collection) to end’ (i.e. preliminary analysis).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Meticulously check, control, and guard the quality of our data
  • Assist with the development of assessments for client treatment outcomes (when the use of standardized measures are inappropriate)
  • Collect data and convert data into units for analysis
  • Prepare data (controlling, cleaning, computing variables, and running basic analysis)
  • Enter data into various databases and (online) data platforms
  • Create and prepare data collection by developing tools (e.g. online survey) and assessment packages
  • Tracking assessments from baseline to end of treatment
  • Work with clinicians to achieve optimal response rates for intake, follow-up, and discharge assessments
  • Assist in report writing for evaluations, grant reports, publications and grant proposals.
  • Train staff and interns on how to run to administer assessments
  • Work with multiple programs (and staff) in assisting/developing data collection systems
  • Assisting research team in other supportive duties as directed
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • BA/BS in related field preferred.
SKILLS:
  • Demonstrated, proficient skills in all major Microsoft programs and Google Docs
  • Knowledge in ACCESS and/or SPSS a plus
  • Strong organizational skills, and ability to operate independently while following instructions closely

REQUIRMENTS:
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
TRAVEL:
  • This role may require travel throughout the Greater New Haven area.
