Director of Marketing and Communications
The Director of Marketing & Communications is an administrative leadership level position that manages a small team of individual contributors for marketing and communication execution. The successful candidate will have a strong background in strategic marketing development and experience with brand building. Responsible for leading the marketing and communication efforts for Oaks Christian School (OCS), including the strategy, development and execution of marketing programs, events, and communications that drive brand awareness and promote a positive community perception leading to increased enrollment and the strengthening of donor relations and family retention. This position will collaborate with the marketing team and external vendors and agencies to shape and disseminate the market messages to a variety of audiences using different approaches. The incumbent will partner with senior management team members, staff, faculty and parents to develop the school’s stories and coordinate communications to a wide range of stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Work alongside the Head of School and the OCS senior leadership and administrative teams to actively contribute to the organizational strategic plan and annual goals
Manage a marketing and communications team to deliver compelling, industry-leading integrated marketing communication efforts that produce a demonstrative return-on-investment
Develop a marketing strategy to drive new enrollments and retain current audiences through multi-channel (including digital), integrated marketing communication efforts
Oversee all content strategy, including the development and execution of digital and traditional advertising campaigns, print and web-based publications, social media, the school’s web site and new opportunities
Manage the OCS brand identity to ensure signage, collateral, digital and written communication meets OCS brand standards (including, but not limited to fonts; graphics; colors; etc.)
Direct multiple projects at one time, working with contracted graphic designers and ad agency to meet deadlines
Represent the school at specified community events, maintaining and developing relations with key external contacts and the community at large
Work collaboratively with all members of the Marketing Team displaying strong interpersonal skills
Develop and oversee the marketing department budget
Manage relationships with the ad agency, graphic designers, and print vendor(s); etc.
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business, Communications, Advertising, or related field is required and a minimum of seven-ten (7-10) years of supervisory-level experience in digital marketing, market research, writing, editing, print production, new media, digital analytics, advertising and/or public relations is required. Prior experience working with private schools, a plus. Effective experience with strong project management is desired.
