The NBCU Operations & Technology Division has an opportunity for a talented individual to join their Technical Operations team. The Director of Studio and Technical Operations provides day to day support for all 30 Rockefeller Center MSNBC cable NBC News Digital productions. Programming includes approximately 150 hours of live production a week and 24 hours of staffed breaking news coverage. This position will report directly to the VP of Studio Operations.

Your Day Includes:
Manage all day to day technical operations in a 24/7 live and taped production environment
Respond to all operational and studio technical issues with urgency
Troubleshoot issues effectively as they arise
Function as the on-site supervisor of all studio technical management
Work closely with show Directors, Producers and EPs to assess production needs
Maintain departmental budget and define efficiencies
Manage within a union and non-union environment
Bachelor’s degree, strongly preferred
8+ years working experience in a studio production environment
5+ years of technical management experience, strongly preferred
Thorough knowledge of studio control rooms and related equipment as well as the ability to operate successfully within a highly technical organization
Must have strong client relationships and work closely with studio engineering and broadcast operations areas
Must be able to work in a fast paced, changing, team-oriented environment and possess a “hands on” management style
