Based in Aesop’s Head Office in New York, this position sits within the Creative team reporting to the Creative Director and is primarily r esponsible for managing the operations of the creative function, including budgeting resource management. The role will work closely with Creative Director to continually improve on the systems in the creative services area to align with the creative strategy, looking for opportunities to create efficiencies, that in turn allow for greater effectiveness, building an environment that fosters creativity, innovation and excellence, and a strongly engaged team. The role will also partner the Creative Director to assess the team structure, and map out team objectives and process, and performing annual reviews.

The role also leads a team of project managers, who establish, facilitate and maintain the workflow and communication between Creative and the global and regional functions in Aesop, in various locations globally, as well as the Studio in Melbourne.

The role is accountable for the annual planning and budgeting of the creative function, and ongoing monitoring and revisions as required, establishing a process for project prioritization and efficient resource and client management, as well as communications with global and regional stakeholders promoting efficient workflow, planning, transparency and engagement.



Staff wellbeing: Manage the workflow to allow for creativity and the creative team to flourish
Budgeting: Creating annual 5yr budgets for the creative function, including staffing, projects, travel, training etc. Approve all expenses and track against the budget monthly
Resource Management: Assess capacity against projects, ensuring we find a healthy balance and this is clearly communicated to the business.
Prioritization: Prioritization of projects and communications to stakeholders
Workflow : Assess, and enhance processes to create efficiencies with stakeholders and team
Staffing: Create JD’s and manage initial recruitment process, as well as manage the review process as required. Ongoing assessments of key roles and team structure.
Relationship Building: Form open relationships with key global and regional stakeholders and project owners
Studio Management: Work with the Studio Manager to ensure the workload and resource is efficiently managed, and the studio is a centre of excellence.

10 years of experience in related field, either in-house creative services or account services in an advertising agency
Studio operations experience
Experience in digital transformation, executing digital creative, and managing creative teams
Demonstrates strong skills in evaluating and directing creative work. An understanding of and respect for the values and nuances of creativity, design and writing.
An understanding of and respect for creativity and what’s required for creative to flourish in their roles.
Previous experience leading and managing a team across specialties, geographies, and varying levels of seniority within large, complex organizations
Experience in budgeting and planning for a creative function, brand or business
Experience in assessing and creating efficiencies in a creative function, brand or business
Experience in high growth company, and the ability to manage change
Strong project management skills: proactive, detail oriented, well organized and assertive
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills; able to work with multiple partners to achieve overall goals
Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities

A commitment to excellence
Proficient in Powerpoint and Excel
Knowledge of digital, print and video production
Ideally, a deep knowledge of and passion for literature, the visual and performing arts, and architecture and design. Or at a minimum, at least three of these fields.
A demonstrated understanding of the Aesop brand tone — in both copy and visuals.
An awareness of cultural sensitivities in the territories in which Aesop operates.
