EMPLOYMENT REQUIRES YOU JOIN THE MILITARY & ENLIST IN THE MARINE CORPS
Motor transport personnel work as part of a team to operate and maintain one of the largest fleets of wheeled vehicles in the world. These Marines learn to master military vehicles, fuel and lubrication systems, diesel engines and more. They preform mechanical, electrical, and body repair to support the operation and maintenance of Marine Corps vehicles.

Those who want to serve must first take a series of tests which help you better understand your strengths and identify which USMC jobs are best for you.
Job training for motor transport personnel begins with 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training and nine weeks of Advanced Individual Training with on-the-job training for operating and maintaining vehicle systems. Part of this time is spent in the classroom and part in the field.
Additional training opportunities will be available based on the type of unit you are assigned to, including (but not limited to) fueling operations, commercial driver’s license certification course, maintenance training, and crash, fire, and rescue operations.

Future Civilian Careers
Regardless of your specialty, military training translates directly to the civilian workforce. Many of the certifications to drive, maintain, and repair vehicles are requirements in civilian careers, but are provided as part of job training in the Marine Corps.
ENLIST IN THE UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS
- Be between 17-24 years old
- Be a US Citizen or hold a green card (I-551)
- Have a High School Diploma/GED
- Have no major medical issues (missing limbs, mental health issues..)
- Have no major law violations (sexual misconducts, domestics..)
There are many other fields available to Marines, including aviation support, infantry, logistics, military police, radio and data communications, legal services, and food preparation.
