The Set up Technician position is responsible for the set up and operation of high speed manufacturing and/or process batching equipment including basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the responsible equipment. The position operates and maintains highly automated bottle handling, filling, vision inspection, conveying, robotic palletizing, autoclaving, labeling and process batching equipment in a cGMP compliant manner. The position performs basic maintenance troubleshooting and repairs of equipment. The maintenance activities include all aspects of production maintenance work including lubricating, inspecting, preventive maintenance, cleaning, troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing/process equipment. Additionally this individual will complete applicable paperwork associated with batch records, equipment cleaning logs and maintenance logs/work orders.
Executes Manufacturing Directions, TPM work instructions, JSA instructions and maintenance work orders.
Sets up high speed manufacturing equipment, within defined tolerances, to ensure product runs are started on time and within established guidelines
Leverages statistical process software to maintain optimal process centering
Operates highly automated manufacturing equipment utilizing PLC based automation to include HMI/SCADA interfaces.
Partners with maintenance staff to perform routine maintenance activities to include: lubricating, inspecting, cleaning, minor equipment troubleshooting/repair and preventive maintenance duties as directed.
Completes documentation requirements in a cGMP compliant manner in accordance with established Quality Policies and practices.
Maintains equipment in clean and sanitary condition, specifically machine parts which come in contact with the product.
Checks equipment during production runs for proper performance and assures the group leader the line is maintaining standard speeds. Recommend changes in equipment that would benefit line performance.
Observes all safety rules in performance of duties.
Skills and Experience:
Associates Degree in a Technical field is preferred. Vocational / Technical School desired. Four or more years of experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment. Able to use standard mechanics tools including drill press, vise and bench grinder as necessary to service all manufacturing equipment.
Required to use personal protection equipment as needed to perform routine and non-routine duties.
Ability to climb stairs to regularly perform work on the mezzanine.
Required to routinely lift 20 lbs.
Ability to work in a team environment including Packaging Operators, Maintenance personnel with minimum supervision.
Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office tools.
Basic maintenance skills and aptitude required
Ability to work overtime as required.
