Full Job Description
Packback’s cofounder and Chief Product Officer is seeking a Content Coordinator / Executive Assistant to help scale efforts related to our product research and strategic communication.
This role is intended to help accelerate and operationalize the production of Packback’s content strategy, as well as enabling Packback's Chief Product Officer to increase the depth and research of our customer research and communication. In this role, you will be working to build the future of Packback's brand and establish Packback as a leader not just in education technology, but in student-centered pedagogy as well.
A perfect fit for this role is someone who is a balance of a creative and strategic written communicator, and an exceptionally organized and efficient project planner. You will enjoy this role if you enjoy taking responsibility and looking for new ways to push projects further, coordinating multiple people on a project to get to the desired outcome, thinking creatively and strategically about how to get a message across in writing (whether on social, in a blog, or in an email).
NOTE: This role is being offered as a 6-month contract-to-hire position, with a strong intention convert to a permanent pending a good fit in the role. The role may be moved to full-time shorter than the 6-month contract window, based on performance.
Duties of the role include:
Acting as an assistant to Packback’s CPO on product and brand projects:
Coordinate successful completion of brand projects
Email or phone outreach to secure coauthors, panelists, quotes, etc. required for the content strategy from our professor userbase.
Manage accountability to “To do’s” in PR and Strategic Communications queue, by checking in with appropriate parties on a set schedule.
Assist in research and literature review for OpEds, Manuscripts and research
Assist in the coordination of assets required for progressing research and larger-scale brand projects (research whitepapers, ebooks)
Webinar operations support
Facilitate wider reach for product research and feedback
Coordinate user interviews with professors and students
Send follow-ups/thank yous after interviews are completed, including payment
Flexible assistance with schedule management, feedback facilitation, and follow-ups as the need arises.
Look for ways actively to protect the CPO’s time and focus on product research, brand, and strategic communication
Look for cases where CPO is being pulled into granular duties that detract from the highest impact actions (E.g. Being tagged in questions that could be answered with a more systematic approach; coordinate to get the answer from CPO and own publishing the answer in the help center or intranet.)
Planned Social Media Content:
Manage and maintain a cohesive, multi-platform (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin) social posting calendar of planned content in line with brand voice guidelines planned and approved in advance by no less than 2 weeks.
Monitor and iterate social content based on engagement statistics.
Monitor educational news and national/world news to propose unplanned/reactive content for our social platforms, in line with brand voice.
Iterate on social media strategy to incorporate new tools and approaches to improve engagement metrics.
Social media community management and engagement:
Monitor social and traditional media using automated alerts for people mentioning Packback directly, mentioning the need for online discussion, and other brand-relevant topics. Reply/Engage directly when appropriate.
Identify potential leads from social media and track in a lead list shared with Sales/EM management.
Manage posting owned and earned content to the Packback blog
Timely sharing of earned media and contributed content opportunities as features on our blog, following the established paradigm
Execute the posting/scheduling of blog content provided to you (post, image, tags)
Participate in the creation and coordination of blog content, ranging from research assistance to outline creation to drafting, depending on project
2 years minimum professional work experience in a transferable field (journalism, social media marketing, content coordination, project coordination, or acting as an executive assistant) or demonstrated equivalent experience
Extreme accountability, ownership, and results-orientation demonstrated in past work experiences, with references available to verify
Effective written business communication skills to coordinate stakeholders on projects and inspire action
Social media, journalism, or content creation experience that demonstrates a clear understanding of using written communication to articulate ideas clearly, offer value to readers, and inspire action around a “call to action”
A passion for project management and organization, and comfort holding senior team members and external clients accountable to delivery dates and project timelines
Experience with journalistic or academic research is a plus as this individual will likely support large-scale content projects as a research assistant

Employment Type: 6-month contract-to-hire, with potential to move to full-time hire sooner than 6-months based on performance.
