Job Description RMD Logistics has a need for a 2nd shift Logistics cell lead. This position has overall responsibility for a Warehousing/Pack-Ship and Receiving operations, team consisting of 10-20 employees. The individual in this role will lead this team of people in a fast paced dynamic environment to maintain and meet organization goals and objectives for RMD.
In addition to the above, responsibilities include workforce planning and forecasting, employee hiring and training, time and attendance tracking, area layout and flow management, This individual will also be responsible for a safe work environment and will actively lead and engage in safety improvement discussions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
This role requires daily interaction with other cross-business teams in RMD to maintain and meet organizational goals and objectives. These groups primarily include the various manufacturing cells at RMD, as well as engineering groups and other RMD sites, production control, finance and the program management office. Achieving/exceeding cost, quality, delivery, safety goals and identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities using six sigma and lean methodologies are critical performance criteria for this position. The position supports deployment of logistics operations strategy, control systems, tools and metrics to accurately measure progress, identify root causes of failure modes, production capacity, quality and staffing issues and develop/implement corrective action plans.

In addition to the above, responsibilities include:
Execution of schedule and cost
Measure and maintain key performance metrics
Workforce planning and forecasting
Maintaining audit readiness
Manage warehouse workflow; monitor and resolve aging work
Coordinate with and monitor other warehouse areas including RMD sites and 3PL providers
Work with other logistics departments to share resources and cross train workforce
Employee hiring and training
Time and attendance tracking
Area layout and flow management
Capital identification and control of overhead expenses
Ensuring the enforcement of company policies and procedures

Required Skills:
Minimum of 2-4 years of work experience in production/ manufacturing/operations or similar environments in a leadership capacity
Experience utilizing business systems and tools that aid in managing labor, processes, and budgets
APICS certification or able to obtain certification within 1 year of employment

US. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Desired Qualifications:
Experience utilizing lean manufacturing concepts with a proven track record of lean / six sigma implementation projects
Previous experience supervising and interfacing bargaining unit employees
Supervisory experience in the aerospace/defense industry
Excellent communication (written and verbal)
Solid people management and interpersonal skills; uses good judgment to resolve conflict
Ability to lead in a team-based manufacturing environment and make decisions with minimal supervision
Customer focused
Metrics driven and success oriented
Experience working with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Access)

Required Education:
BS/BA degree or equivalent education and experience.
