The Awareness Group is seeking an experienced sales professional to help drive commercial solar sales. In this role you will work with and report directly to our Vice President of Business Development to consummate the sale of commercial solar projects throughout the country. Ideal candidates will be highly self-motivated, ethical and knowledgeable about commercial solar.
Responsibilities
Origination
- Work warm leads provided to you via TAGs extensive sales, developer, and contractor networks.
- Zero cold calling whatsoever.
- Manage and track origination activities via CRM
- Respond to incoming leads and RFPs quickly and gather key data for go/no-go analysis
- Commission only position with a very lucrative commission plan. This is a mid 6 figure opportunity for the right candidate.
Estimation and Proposal Generation
- Identify key customer concerns, gather relevant data, and prepare sales proposals and financial numbers as needed.
- Work with developer and property owner to conduct necessary interview to ensure customer is given the best solar solution.
- Complete estimation and return tools and confirm subcontractor pricing as needed
- Generate quality proposals tailored to customer needs with excellent attention to detail
- Thoroughly explain to customer the benefits of the ITC credits and other subsidiaries that make the solar transaction optimally beneficial.
Pipeline Management and Relationship Building
- Present proposals to clients via zoom
- Track sales projects in company CRM and move them through the pipeline by consistently following up with clients and completing proposal revisions
- Develop strong customer relationships and cultivate a network for repeat business
Project Close and Networking
- Act as key commercial contact for client after project signing
- Represent The Awareness Group at networking and industry events and grow your network
- Negotiate contract terms with clients.
Requirements:
- 1-3+ years of proven sales experience, ideally in commercial solar
- Knowledge of the solar industry including: basics of system design and construction, product knowledge, regulatory requirements in the D.C. Metro Area and financial incentives
- Technical aptitude and experience with such tools as Helioscope, and Google Earth as well as very strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong networking ability and the ability to constantly expand your customer base
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal and drug screening
