The incumbent supports Engineering Service by performing administrative support work for Engineering Service professional and operational staff. Coordinates and performs a wide variety of administrative and clerical tasks essential to the administration of Engineering Service functions necessary for safe and uninterrupted care of veteran patients served by JHQVAMC. Provides technical and procedural advice in support of Engineering Service functions and taking or recommending action using established procedures and guidelines. Serves as the initial point-of-contact for questions, information requests, problem resolution for Engineering Service customers as relating to meeting coordination, preparation and maintenance of critical records, work order requests, travel requests, time and attendance recordkeeping, report submission, correspondence preparation and control, and office automation.

Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-5 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-4. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-4 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. This means, for example, to qualify for a GS -5 grade (or equivalent) level, you must have had a minimum of 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to a GS -4 grade (or equivalent) level. OR,
