A great International short term and long-term opportunity for a Telecommunications Technician to support requirements to install a fully functional NSDN Trucking RF/Microwave Communications Network. This position requires on-site, in-country performance for the duration of the contract.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Telecommunications Engineer will be part of a team traveling to various sites in-country to conduct microwave and radio systems siting, installation, and commissioning support on a wide range of mobile and permanent Kenwood radio systems. The position also requires assisting with solar power and auxiliary power systems related work. Work will include, but is not limited to, assisting the team in installing poles, antenna mounts; installing and aligning antennas; installing wireless hardware; conducting tests as needed; and climbing towers and base stations at heights over 40 ft.
The primary responsibility of the Telecommunications Engineer will be to install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems. Under the direction of the Team Lead, the Telecommunications Engineer will be responsible for:
Working in this region of the world will require walking on uneven ground, exposure to dust, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and potential work at heights. Work requires intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation.
