Under the general supervision and guidance of the Program Manager, the part-time coordinator for New Student Orientation is responsible for coordinating orientation sessions for incoming UVU freshman and transfer students, assisting in hiring and training orientation leaders, and supervising orientation leaders on days of orientation. Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree in a closely related field to the summary of duties OR any combination of education and experience related to the summary of duties totaling three years.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of orientation best practices and procedures.
Knowledge of theories dealing with student success and retention.
Knowledge of student development theory and practice.
Knowledge and computer skills in word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheets, and other basic functions (email, Internet, etc.).
Skills in development and coordination of special events, specifically new student, parent, and family programs.
Ability to train student leaders in operation of programs.
Ability to develop orientation programs and related events.
Ability to provide engaging verbal presentations to large audiences.
Ability to draft grammatically correct and effective written communications.
Ability to use standard office equipment (copier, fax machine, etc.).
Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.

You may be eligible for a 3 credit hour or 1 class tuition waiver after 6 consecutive months of employment and a minimum of 475 hours worked. Dependents do not qualify for a waiver.
Pay Range $13.27 - $16.58
