The successful candidate will assist with the timely month end closing of the general ledger for all Masonic Related Entities including reconciliations as required. This position will also maintain all fixed asset and capital project records for all Masonic Entities. Primary areas of emphasis are fixed assets, General Ledger, Balance Sheet and Income Statement account reconciliations/analyses, property tax administration, Government filing including IRS Form 990 and FTB Form 199 and support to Masonic Lodges and Halls who utilize Intacct (General Ledger Software)
Management of Fixed Asset and Capital projects for all entities
Balance sheet and Income Statement account analysis and reconciliation including bank reconciliations
Analyze and prepare monthly allocated expenses for the California Masonic Memorial Temple, the Grand Lodge of California, the Nob Hill Masonic Center and the California Masonic Foundation.
Month-end closing journal entries including Live Nation (major tenant) billings for shared expenses and event related revenue sharing as well as creating invoices for SP+ (parking management company) for parking garage revenue and expenses
Government compliance filings – Form 571, Welfare exemptions, Form S100, Census Report, Sales and Use tax
Assist in the annual audit and preparation of the Form 990 for all entities
Review lodges financial reports at the end of the year for tax preparation and filing
Serve as back up for various other accounting functions
Provide support in various accounting, audit and tax matters related to all Masonic Entities
Provide support to Masonic lodges and halls utilizing Intacct
Other ad hoc duties as assigned
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum three-years of accounting experience including all major functions of accounting.
Job requires solid knowledge of all accounting applications (General Ledger, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables and cash).
General Ledger accounting experience required including experience in General Ledger accounting software/packages
Competent in creation and use of spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), use of word processing (Microsoft Word)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities and meet deadlines
Must be extremely well-organized and detail-oriented
Strong mathematical and analytical skills
Any combination of education and experience that would provide the necessary knowledge and abilities listed, typically:
BA/BS degree in accounting or business, or equivalent experience
