Axalta is currently recruiting for a Global External and North America Communications Manager (GENACM) to join our Global Corporate Affairs team, which reports directly to the Vice President, Corporate Affairs and indirectly to the President, North America. The role will be dual based in Philadelphia, PA and Glen Mills, PA. The GENACM will be responsible for the development and execution of a global strategy and plan for the Company’s external communications and manage internal, external, and corporate social responsibility programming for Axalta’s North America operations.

For Corporate, the GENACM will establish a contemporary approach to corporate external communications, develop thought leadership platforms for key executives, draft corporate content, identify speaking and media opportunities, and review all corporate content. For North America, the GENACM will be responsible for employee Town Hall meetings, key marketing initiatives for the Company’s North American businesses, and supporting the North American Leadership team (NALT).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Global External Communications - Responsible for the development of a global media relations strategy and plan, including thought leadership, business/financial profiles, technology leadership, and financial communications. Leads identification and coordination of speaking engagements, responds to and generates external industry/best practice awards and recognition programming as well as media inquiries. A lead company spokesperson, this role develops and maintains relationships with relevant reporters while also pitching compelling stories. Responds to and manages crisis and issues alongside leadership. Collaborates with internal partners on external media events.
North America - External Communications – Develops an in-region media campaign that is consistent with the strategy, goals, and objectives of the Global Corporate Affairs plan and the key objectives of the Axalta Business Segments. Establishes thought leadership platforms for key regional leaders and technology experts. Supports NALT travel agendas with recommendations for top-tier media opportunities, speaking engagements, and other external-facing events as appropriate. Serves as North America spokesperson and leads responses to media inquiries as needed. Develops and maintains relationships with relevant North America reporters and industry-specific media outlets for specific events such as Color of the Year (COTY), SEMA, and the Detroit Auto Show.
North America - Internal Communications – Responsible for region specific site communications, including digital signage and site leader communications, updated the employee intranet Inside Axalta, and maintains internal-facing country sites on Responsible for regional internal employee events, including the quarterly North America Town Hall meetings. Supports ALT travel agendas and select internal meetings.
North America - Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) – Develops news and manages ongoing North America-specific CSR programming tied to Axalta’s core components – STEM Education, Environmental Stewardship, and Child Well-Being. Coordinates with Human Resources on outcomes in the region for University Relations programming.
North America - Digital Marketing – Drives content for U.S. and Canada websites, ensures “freshness” and relevancy of stories. Develops and maintains North America social media approach tied to specific business case and helps facilitate customer interactions.

Previous experience working in external corporate affairs with deep understanding of media relations
Strong written and oral communications skills
Understanding of capital markets communications and corporate earnings process
Internal communications / employee engagement experience
Good grasp of social media and crisis communications
Solid executive presence
Ability to work in a fast-paced organization and across corporate communications functions
Based in Philadelphia, PA

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, and/or Journalism or related field required.
8+ years of experience in corporate external communications or communications agency experience.
Demonstrable experience with creating, deploying, and maintaining communications strategic, executing media plans, and leading corporate and site communications planning.
