The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is excited to announce a great opportunity for a new position in a rapidly growing organization. Dallas is experiencing tremendous growth, has an economy that seems to know no bounds and offers a wide variety of activities making the area desirable. From arts (Dallas has the largest contiguous arts district in the United States) to recreation (area lakes, community parks and the world-famous Dallas Arboretum) to sports (home to several professional and collegiate teams), Dallas offers whatever your interests may be. It’s the place to live if you’re looking for affordable housing, no state income tax, a growing job market, a high quality of life, and the home of several Fortune 500 companies.
The Dallas Y is known for innovation and continuously seeks to improve what we offer members, volunteers and staff. We believe in investing in our people and promote opportunities for career development programs that challenge you to improve both personally and professionally. Recently, the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas was named the Non-Profit Organization of the Year by D CEO Magazine. The Y was the first recipient of the award beating out a field of over three hundred entries.
The Y is one of the nation’s leading nonprofits strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Across the U.S., 2,700 Ys engage 22 million men, women and children – regardless of age, income or background – to nurture the potential of children and teens, improving health and well-being, and providing opportunities to give back and support neighbors. Employees can take advantage of the many benefits 21 locations provide to them and their families.
The position is unique to the Dallas YMCA and provides a great opportunity for individual growth. A primary responsibility is to serve as the New Market and Service Partner Y Executive Director. Dallas has twelve suburbs that have populations in excess of 100K people. Five of those don’t have a YMCA. In addition, another twelve municipalities have expressed interest in wanting a Y. Working with senior leadership, three-four communities will be identified to begin the relationship building needed to establish a new Y. The New Market and Service Partner Y Executive will be the face of the Y in these communities.
The Service Partner Specialist is the second main responsibility of the new position. In this portion of the role, the position would receive inquiries from local Ys that need assistance in aquatics, childcare, finance, financial development, human resources, membership or teen programming. From these inquiries, the Specialist would determine the appropriate Dallas Y Staff member to connect them to. The Specialist will be the entry point, potential problem solver and represent Dallas to a large audience of YMCAs.
The Dallas YMCA is looking for an adaptable leader with the ability to build and develop relationships in communities wanting a new Y and to be a connector for local YMCAs that need assistance with an outstanding Dallas Y Staff member.
