Business Analyst with Clinical Background

The Clinical Workflow Applications team delivers workflow efficiency and patient safety improvements within the hospital. We work on solutions used at the point of care, in the pharmacy, the operating room, and throughout the hospital. As a positive independent thinker, you will articulate solutions for our products during a particular release through the requirements elicitation process. You should have the ability to cultivate relationships and clearly express thoughts verbally and through documentation. You will be called on as a subject matter expert who can speak to specifics of the applications.

Principal duties and Responsibilities:

  • You will own sole development and direction of User Needs and User Stories, in an Agile environment with iterative sprint cycles
  • Strong background analyzing, risk assessing, and writing software requirements supporting clinical workflow, interoperability, common services, security, and product implementation support
  • Strong understanding of clinical workflow i.e.; Nursing, Pharmacy, Lab and Blood Bank
  • Apply clinical expertise to application development and provide project teams with information to make sound decisions related to clinical workflow
  • You ensure end to end requirements traceability to software test cases
  • Experience organizing and maintaining Product and Sprint backlogs
  • Your strong written and verbal communication skills will drive and direct the team
  • You enjoy collaborating with team members, sharing your knowledge, and continuously improving your craft

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in documenting requirements for commercial products (software)
  • 3 years working in an Agile environment, with demonstrated ability to clearly articulate User Stories and Conditions of Satisfaction to development teams
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • Clinically educated, BA/BS required
  • Acute health care experience required (Physician, Nursing, Pharmacy, Lab, and Respiratory)
  • Ability to elicit, create, and analyze functional and non-functional requirements
  • Outgoing personality with the willingness to solve problems, contribute to intelligent discussions and loves a challenge
  • Confident in requirement knowledge to help lead change and implement new strategies company wide

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Mobile solutions and web based software development experience
  • Experience working within teams that include offshore team members
  • Experience using Team Foundation Server for Agile Software Development and work item tracking
