Summary of Position:
The primary focus of this position will be to work with the Finance / Operations Team to support day-to-day vendor relationships and purchasing initiatives. You will analyze price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support when choosing suppliers and products in addition to following through with all processes related to purchasing. You will work with colleagues to develop processes, implement effective workflows and embrace best practices to support related company priorities and business growth activities.

Essential Functions:
Become familiar with DataServ policies and procedures
Represent DataServ in a positive manner to colleagues, customer base and vendors
Perform market analysis and new vendor research based on need
Build relationships with identified vendors
Effectively negotiate with vendors all terms and conditions in the best interest of the organization
Manage vendor relationships, including resolving problems and disputes
Identify new product and service opportunities
Research product requests from sales
Assist team by obtaining price quotes from vendors
Maintain inventory for high service levels while maximizing high inventory turns
Assist with purchasing and inventory utilizing ERP system and related software
Generate purchase orders with adequate product requirements, attaching confirmations, and follow-up documentation to ensure timely delivery of product
Keep account of all receipts of goods and invoice preparation
Provide ongoing analysis, sourcing, selection, price negotiation, contract management, onboarding, and performance management of vendors
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Develop processes, implement effective workflows and embrace best practices
Provide redundancy and backup support for other team members
Be a supportive team member to others
All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to proofread
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word)
Strong skills related to costs: collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in logistics, accounting, or related field preferred
1-5 years of previous inventory control, buying experience, and/or accounting
Experience with databases preferred
Experience with technology manufacturers (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, HP, Dell) preferred
Meet physical demands of position, including the ability to lift and handle up to 45 pounds of materials, bend, stoop and stretch as required for placement and retrieval of materials or equipment on shelving
Pre-employment drug screening required
Pre-employment driver’s license and background checks required
