2020 Internship Program Overview
As a part of the Hennessy Industries Summer Internship Program, students have opportunity to advance their strengths and interests. This program allows participants to network with leaders and to build transferable skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and effective communication. Each internship assignment is a 12-week program (late May – early August) in which you will assume responsibility on challenging projects and see them through from strategy to implementation. The program culminates with a report-out presentation to a group of Leaders and Executives.
2020 Supply Chain Intern
The Supply Chain Intern is responsible for supporting the Supply Chain Department and providing the business with support on meaningful supply chain projects focused on quality improvements, operational efficiencies, and cost savings. This includes but not limited to: material planning, procurement, shipping/receiving support, and data analysis.
Develop a general understanding of Supply Chain operations such as Material Planning, Procurement, and Logistics.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve overall supply chain operational efficiency and cost effectiveness
Assist in creating purchase orders based on inventory and customer demand; Follow up and expedite as required to ensure on-time delivery.
Maintain system database of planning and procurement parameters.
Develop RFQs and participate in negotiations where applicable
Interact with cross functional departments, such as engineering, marketing, quality and operations to develop and deliver cost savings projects to the business.
Provide the Supply Chain team with administrative support
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
Must meet the Hennessy Internship Program Application requirements
Must be pursuing BS Degree in Supply Chain, Business or a related major
Must have completed Sophomore level courses prior to the internship start.
Must possess solid MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint); general computer skills

In order to submit an application for the Hennessy Industries Summer Internship Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Students must be currently enrolled and taking classes at an accredited program or institution and have completed at least four semesters of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship OR be currently enrolled and taking classes in an accredited graduate program
Have obtained a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher during the last semester completed before the current program application deadline
Meet Any School Requirements for Participation – Students also must meet any additional criteria their school requires for participation in our program. This may include G.P.A., grade level, and number of credit hours earned
Be at Least 18 Years of Age by the Time the Program Begins
Must be able to work at our LaVergne, TN facility for the duration of the summer program. Company-provided temporary living assistance may be available.
