Our REI Department has an immediate need for an Inspector with railroad experience.

Extensive working knowledge and understanding of railroad operations.

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a minimum of five (5) years' experience in inspecting and managing civil/structural/track construction or 2) High School diploma (or equivalent) and ten {10) years of experience in inspecting and managing civil/structural/track construction.
Experience with structural/civil construction elements (such as pile drilling/driving,earthwork, etc.) and railroad infrastructure construction (i.e. track-work, platform work, etc.) is required. Experience in elevator/escalator construction, installation of glass curtain walls, bridge waterproofing, and mechanical I electrical systems work is highly desirable.
Ability to read and comprehend electrical, mechanical, communication, track-work, and civil/structural engineering plans, technical specifications, and other construction related documents such as test plans/procedures.Knowledge of construction when working in proximity to commuter railroad operations.
Knowledge of LIRR or similar railroad operations.
Must demonstrate a very strong ability to work within a "paperless" environment as all project documentation will be maintained and stored in electronic media. Proficiency in the use of personal computer and office software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Professional, is desirable.

Skills:
Maintain ACI Field Certification throughout the project.Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
Maintain Roadway Worker Protection, OSHA, and other necessary training during the project duration.
Inspectors shall maintain a valid Driver's License.
