The Interface and Requirements manager is responsible for managing the technical compliance of the project with our customer with respect to all contractual requirements through the entire design and construction life of the project. The role will focus on creating an itemized list of requirements by function and working with and across functions as necessary to ensure the project is in compliance throughout the design build phase but also with a heavy focus in having the project turnover requirements ready for submittal and to ensure a timely turnover process. The role will manage a Requirement Traceability Matrix and establish and enforce a process to ensure all records that impact contractual requirement are collated and assessed. The role will also ensure that all completed records are collected and at the correct frequency and analyzed to ensure they have been completed correctly and linked to other relevant documentation. The position will report to the project quality director.
  • The interface and requirements manager will enter requirements into a system/list and maintain the same.
  • Set up and manage the Requirement Traceability Matrix for the project, assist in assigning resources and ensuring that non-compliance issues are controlled and closed
  • Produce detailed reports in electronic format
  • Analyzing processes to detect and eliminate potential causes of nonconformance
  • Initiating remedial actions to address problems to a level appropriate with the risks encountered
  • Responsible for creating the tracking tools, assigning resources and ensuring that non-compliance issues are controlled and closed
  • Enabling a robust collecting and filing system to ensure all completed records are effectively close out in a timely manor
  • To ensure that all relevant records are collected in line with the identified frequency
  • Specify the requirements as it relates to the customer and technical specifications and liaise across departments providing clarity
  • To ensure that all relevant records are collected in line with the identified frequency
  • Monitor all disciplines to ensure compliance with the requirements of the contractual document
  • Report all non-compliance to the Quality director to ensure immediate action is taken
  • To ensure all required documentation is being track for traceability and is accurate and completed full.
  • Providing and delivering traceability services to both external clients and internally
  • Ensure that all customer and contractual requirements are also in line with the latest industry recommendations as appropriate
  • Ensure requirement is applied to the product and that each requirement is tested thoroughly
  • Create report to show the overall defects or execution status with a focus on business requirements
  • Highlights any requirements missing or document inconsistencies
  • Assist and participate in all design reviews and customer meetings as appropriate
  • Be flexible to act in other role(s)/perform duties as directed by the Quality director

Basic Job Requirements

  • Accredited two (2) or three (3) year Technical or Engineering Technology diploma or global equivalent in applicable field of study and fifteen (15) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to seventeen (17) years if there is no accreditation; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local regulations
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete principal job duties and responsibilities
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province and federal/national statutes and guidelines
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Other Job Requirements

  • Act as a Lead Auditor to plan, perform, report quality audits of a variety of construction activities
  • Perform physical inspection of a variety of discipline activities which may include but not limited to: welding, piping, civil, concrete, buildings, fixed and rotating equipment, electrical, control systems, coatings, insulation, and non-destructive testing
Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of engineering
  • Ten (10) years of experience with at least six (6) of those years having supervision or management experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build effective relationship with client, engineering, construction and management personnel of all discipline
  • Knowledgeable about rail transit design build project
  • Knowledgeable about Requirement Traceability process
