St. Luke’s Health System is currently seeking a Clinical Educator to join our team in Wood River under the direction of our Director of Clinical Learning for our Clinical Learning and Student Services department!
The Clinical Educator plans, supervises, coordinates and evaluates education programs for clinical personnel. Provides clinical education and evaluation to clinical staff and facilitates evidence-based research within a specialized area.
WHAT WILL I DO? This position will partner with leaders and oversee the 7 areas of educator standard work: orientation and onboarding, professional development, education (plan, design, develop and evaluate), ongoing competency, evidence-based practice, oversight of students and preceptor preparation. This role partners with our system education team, the simulation team and other educators across Population Health Area 3 and system. This role requires some teaching of classes and credentialed courses such as BLS, ACLS, or PALS.
Our ideal candidate is someone who can independently drive their workload and assist leaders and teams within the educator standard work. The person needs to have strong interpersonal skills, be very detailed, and have excellent communication skills. Also, must be willing to have fun, work hard, and have a true passion to help solve problems and help others! There will be minimal travel required.
Develops, implements and oversees the orientation and/or education of staff.
Designs or collaborates in designing educational curriculums, classes and activities
Evaluates effectiveness and outcomes of educational endeavors.
Acts as a facilitator, consultant, and leader in area of expertise.
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter
Provides education consistent with current protocols, procedures, evidence, and Magnet (as appropriate).
Devises and maintains strategies to ensure professional development.
Coaches program participants and/or unit practitioners.
Develops education to meet regulatory standards and all related policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Manages multiple complex education projects.
May provide input into the employee evaluation process, counsel employees and/or recommend initial discipline and other personnel actions
Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing
4 years’ related experience
RN Licensure in the State of Practice
experience in either Critical Care
Maternal Child or Med Surg
Willingness to take on a new role with an open mind and ability to be resilient through change.
