SUMMARY
The Associate Designer of Men's Golf and Tennis Apparel is responsible for the execution of the entire design process and administration of product lines. Will design and develop specific product categories and collections with the guidance of Designer / Senior Designer / Design Director
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively participate in the conceptual development of product lines (i.e., sells ideas/concepts and convinces others to adopt a course of action) and present concepts and collections in internal meetings.
- Assists in ensuring that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy.
- Responsible for trend research and inspiration.
- Responsible for illustrator sketches, 3D CAD design, fit comments and final product execution.
- Partners with the design director and VP of Design in creating brand identity with a creative and current design approach.
- Works with the design director to create a clear direction for the fabric and print development team.
- Generate tech packs for new and carryover styles in the PLM system.
- Partners with merchandising and product development team for approval of sales samples to ensure garment is production-ready.
SKILLS
- Knowledge of activewear fabrications and performance technologies.
- High level of creativity with a passion for design
- Working Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- Ability to learn new computer technology including 3-D design
- Strong research, design, and conceptual skills
- Strong sense of color and taste level
- Time management and organizational skills, ability to multitask
- Ability to present in front of an audience
- Min 3+ years of design experience
