The Headlines:
In the role of Chemist working in the Milwaukee Brewery, you will be part of the Supply Chain Team. You will plan, design, execute and manage sophisticated chemical analysis programs for interplant evaluations, competitor evaluations, pilot brewing support, product improvement, and consumer complaints.

This position reports to the Manager of Quality Systems and Regulatory Compliance and works closely with the corporate quality, corporate brewing, technical innovation and development and Packaging Innovation and Development to provide technical expertise to support quality and brewing issues, process and product improvements and new product and package innovation.

The Responsibilities:
Performs high level analytical techniques and instrumental analyses such as gas chromatography (GC), high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS), spectroscopy (infrared and ultraviolet), inductively coupled plasma analysis (ICP), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), etc.
Provide highly accurate and precise chemical analysis on a global range of beer styles, in process and package, flavored malt beverages and their ingredients, ciders, sodas and products with unknown chemical characteristics.
Performs routine and advanced beer analyses ranging from basic wet chemistry to using highly sophisticated instrumentation
Act as a subject matter expert (SME), providing technical direction and support in analytical techniques, MillerCoors analytical methods, laboratory equipment (performance, calibration, troubleshooting), laboratory automation and data management.
Develop and implement laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration programs on new and existing equipment that ensure a high degree of accuracy and precision

The Other Qualifications :
You have a Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field with five years of laboratory experience
You have advanced knowledge of the principles and techniques of chemistry as they apply to Brewing, Flavored Malt Beverages and hops
You have advanced knowledge of laboratory equipment, laboratory automation and data management
You have advanced knowledge of ASBC and EBC analytical chemistry test methods
You are a natural born leader – you are able to provide technical direction and training in sensory techniques to technicians
