STATEMENT (defines the major functions/purpose of the position)

ASICS’ Legal Department is responsible for a variety of legal issues that may arise in the course of business for the Americas region (which includes certain countries from North and South America). Among its responsibilities, the Legal Department oversees contracts and compliance, mitigates risk, and ensures that the company is successful as it grows. The Paralegal will support the Legal Department by performing contract management and corporate filing functions, along with various administrative and organizational tasks.

With attorney oversight, draft and/or review of legal documents such as:
Statements of Work (SOWs)
Non-Disclosure Agreements
Consulting Agreements
Independent Contractor Agreements
Talent Services Agreements
Sponsorship Agreements
Lease Agreements and Renewals
Vendor Agreements
Contract Renewals
Organizational and Corporate Entity Documents
Draft correspondence and other written materials
Support attorneys with management of outside counsel for litigation related cases
Work closely with business units to understand deals in order to move contracts along in the contract approval cycle
Enter data/documents regarding contracts in the contract management system
Track, record, and file executed contracts along with the original contract request forms
Maintains records of company’s leases
Manage and maintain business filings and licenses
Under supervision of attorneys, maintain company’s corporate governance records for corporation and its subsidiaries
Update and maintain the legal templates library
Support document retention
Generate reports for audits, finance and/or internal meetings

Demonstrate high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with clients, peers and management
Demonstrate high level of quality work and regular attendance


Interacts with all levels throughout organization as well as vendors and outside counsel

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

BA degree, with a minimum of 5 years of previous corporate paralegal experience in a law office or in-legal department is required
Notary certification preferrred

Good skills in analytical thinking, specifically, the ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, and develop substantiated conclusions
Ability to establish trust and rapport with business units, and act as a critical liaison between departments, attorneys, outside counsel and vendors
Ability to multitask with competing priorities- must be able to track and manage multiple projects that require interaction with a variety of departments and types of information, to ensure nothing is missed
Attention to detail and accuracy is critical
Ability to work effectively under multiple time deadlines
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and analyze information skillfully with minimal supervision
Must be able to maintain confidentiality in all matters
Ability to express facts and ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Exceptional communication (oral and written), research and customer service skills
Intermediate or advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google (Gmail, Google Docs), and online research (required), and Westlaw Research (preferred)
Excellent interpersonal skills; listens, asks relevant questions and gets clarification when necessary
Takes independent actions and asks for and offers help when needed
Adheres to all Company Policies & Procedures and Safety Regulations
Adheres to local, state and federal laws
