Lead and manage the Simplot Technology (ST) Portfolio and Project Management Office (PMO), which is accountable for ongoing portfolio optimization as well as individual project definition and execution that meets scope, schedule and resource targets of our Technology projects at Simplot. Provides leadership of the end to end management and delivery of the overall IT project portfolio and individual projects aligned to business needs, from concept discovery, and solution development through to successful delivery, ensuring high quality, architectural alignment, and execution efficiency. Provides leadership and coaching to develop and optimize individual and team capability; and provides strategic direction and continuous improvement in business analysis, project management, resource optimization and delivery methodologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND LEADERSHIP CAPABILITIES
Accountable for overall leadership of project team members and overseeing delivery of multiple IT projects, including planning, budgeting, resourcing, reporting and change management activities.
Accountable for overall project performance management and output, ensuring relevant tracking, reporting, reviews, communication, scope and delivery requirements are met.
Accountable for overall deployment and structure of internal and contract resources, including balancing project capacity, demand and priorities to meet agreed objectives.
Accountable for developing and implementing standardized project/program methodologies, ensuring the appropriate methods and tools are used to ensure successful delivery.
Accountable for defining and implementing relevant IT project governance and compliance processes to mitigate risk and manage critical dependencies.
Collaborating with functional managers, define and implement resource management processes and supporting tools to ensure appropriate allocation of people to prioritized projects.
Lead a continuous improvement ethos through effective coaching, fostering innovation and best methodology practices to improve IT project delivery capabilities.
Lead the team in systems and design thinking and the adoption of fit for purpose business analysis and project management methods that meet organizational and business requirements.
Ensure regular engagement with broad stakeholder groups to ensure business requirements and expectations are effectively managed and clearly communicated.
Ensure projects are delivered in alignment with the global technology strategy and enterprise architecture.
Ensure projects are carried out in the priority order as specified by respective business leaders and key stakeholders.
Ensure post implementation project reviews are completed to determine benefits realization, achievement of project objectives, and improvement areas for future projects.
Ensure programs of work and projects are effectively monitored, documented, tracked, reported, integrated and implemented.
Ensure early visibility and action when projects veer off track, own the definition and resolution of escalated project issues, and collaborate with business and IT peers, technical leads and functional managers to ensure timely resolution.
Proactively instill a positive team environment with a clear customer, quality, and delivery focus.
Keep abreast of new methodologies, technologies and emerging trends in particular in the area of Information Technology.
Participates as an executive member of the Simplot Technology leadership staff.
Responsible for overall leadership of team globally distributed technical professionals. Provides coaching and formal performance management. Provides feedback and development opportunities for staff.
Defines and manages operating expense budget. Establishes, manages, reports on performance goals and KPIs for department.
Develop, manage, measure and report on consistent processes, methods and success measurement for the PMO.
Participate in global Technology strategy development and implementation.
Provide leadership, guidance, team direction, problem resolution and accountability for the performance of managers and/or senior level professional staff. Align department and individual contributor goals to those of the organization.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
Master's Degree preferred.
10+ years in strategic or operational IT team leadership.
Experience in an executive technology leadership role with an emphasis in effective, efficient Portfolio, Program and Project Management and Delivery.
Strong leadership and management abilities. Proven global/international leadership experience in managing multiple, large cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
Proven success utilizing both internal and external project management resources.
Demonstrated critical thinking, planning and execution at a strategic, global level.
Strong financial management skills in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
Strong multi-tasking capabilities, with flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and priorities.
Strong organizational skills and excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Strong commitment and attention to details.
