The Extraction and Manufacturing Technician (EMT) is responsible for assisting in the preparation, formulation, and production of all manufactured cannabis goods which includes but is not limited to the creation of pre-rolls, concentrates, vape carts, and cannabis infused products. The EMT completes tasks assigned by the Lab Director to monitor and maintain the cleanliness, organization, and efficiency of all production areas. The EMT adheres to the company’s quality control measures and compliance requirements, while helping to maintain overall general workplace safety. This position is responsible for following the company’s Standard Operating Procedures while_ assisting with all processes _including but not limited to biomass prep, extraction, separation, formulation, filling, packaging, labeling, inventory, and waste, and must maintain complete and accurate batch records and logs.
The ideal candidate demonstrates:

● an understanding of basic scientific principles and possess some cannabis lab/ manufacturing experience
● the ability to follow verbal and written directions, and to ask for clarification when needed
● experience maintaining batch records and logs for each product or process
● experience maintaining compliant cleaning and preventative maintenance logs for all equipment
● the ability to follow all applicable policies, procedures and guidelines. This includes the safe and proper operation of any/all applicable machinery, instrumentation, and equipment
● experience operating extraction equipment in a C1D1 environment
● the importance of making observations, taking notes, calculating and recording results
● an understanding of and ability to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly production goals set by the management team
● flexibility working as part of a team meeting production schedules, and the ability to pivot to a new production schedule on the fly as needed
● the ability to monitor production lines and record/report quality incidents to management
● knowledge to assist in collecting samples for analysis
● the ability to follow all company SOPs and analytical procedures to maintain compliance with Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices
● recording data in lab notebooks, computer databases, and test reports
Required skills:
● Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with co-workers and management.
● Practice good housekeeping habits throughout the facility with focus and personal contributions towards a clean and organized work area at all times of production.
● Capable of working with hazardous chemicals and is able to identify and report unsafe equipment, conditions and practices to management so that they may be corrected prior to an incident.
● Flexibility and the ability to shift work schedule according to production needs.
● Must pass any and all required pre-employment screenings.
● Must remain compliant with all legal, state, and company regulations for working in the industry.
● Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
● While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, lifting, talking, hearing, seeing, standing and repetitive motions.
● Physical demands – will be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (200 pounds with assistance)
Desired skills:
● Associate or 4-year degree preferred, or relevant work experience in the field
● Understanding of basic chemistry and physics principles
● Prior Hydrocarbon Extraction experience is strongly preferred
● Prior Cannabis manufacturing experience is preferred
● Strong mechanical knowledge of pumps, ovens, centrifuge, vape cart filling equipment, and automation is preferred
● Strong attention to detail is required

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
