USC Trojan Event Services (USC Scheduling Office) schedules and produces events throughout the campus, including, but not limited to, Ronald Tutor Campus Center, Bovard Auditorium, Ground Zero, Tommy’s Place, and several outdoor venues. The position supervises student staff to schedule and produce events occurring in the Lyon Center, Uytengsu Aquatics Center, and USC Village Fitness Center and other venues as assigned. This position works closely with the supervisor to analyze room rental charges, reservation and venue policies, and attend important events to ensure that events are appropriately executed. The position will be required to work some evenings and weekends due to the nature of managing events.
Oversees the reservation process for rentals across Recreational Sports venues
Reviews policies and procedures related to renting spaces with potential clients
Works closely with internal constituents for event logistics (i.e. Facilities Management Services, Department of Public Safety, Risk Management, USC Hospitality, USC Athletics, etc.)
Supervises and manages a staff of student workers
Creates and maintains various reports for management use
Attends meetings representing Trojan Events/Recreational Sports team
Collecting payments and working with Provost – Shared Services on accounting matters
Master’s in Student Personnel Administration, Education, Counseling or Related Field
3 years of directly relevant experience
Previous experience supervising student workers
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of student development.
Knowledge of and skill in budgeting, fiscal management, and reporting.
Ability to achieve assigned objectives within budget and within the desired time frame.
Interpersonal skills including leadership, maturity, and an ability to work well and solve problems with clients and staff.
Willingness to work with an ethnically diverse and culturally pluralistic student body and staff.
Ability to analyze and solve problems, draw valid conclusion and develop alternative recommendation.
Ability to lift, pull, or carry some heavy equipment.
Minimum Education: - Bachelor's degree - Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education Minimum Experience: - 2 years Minimum Field of Expertise: - Student personnel administration
