Lead Producer Job Description
Rhizome Comedy is seeking a full-time Lead Producer to join our small team! The Lead Producer’s primary responsibility will be managing our comedy production recordings around the country..
Position Parameters
- 40 hours a week fully exempt. Recordings take place in the evening and on weekends. Out of state travel required for recordings and often takes places on weekends.
- Position is hybrid with some work from home, in-person meetings, and then in-person at recordings.
- Salary range is $45,000 and can be negotiated if commensurate with experience.
- Position is managed by the Executive Director.
- Position assists in managing production staff.
- Position must live in either The Triangle, North Carolina or Atlanta, GA.
Job Duties
- Performance venue scouting, booking and coordinating in cities around the country
- Talent scouting, booking, and coordinating for 4-5 comedy shows per month,
- Communications planning including social media, broadcast email, and printed materials.
- Event promotion including but not limited to ticketing, social media, news media, and grassroots marketing.
- Line Producing recorded comedy shows including but not limited to assisting camera and audio setup and takedown, venue and talent coordinating, and stage management.
- Managing and coordinating with our small production team.
- Assisting the Executive Director with big vision planning
Qualifications
- 3-4 years experience in event management or stage management.
- Background in comedy, theater or film production preferred
- 3-4 years experience in managing staff
- Experience in multichannel communications planning
