Project Foreman (Foreperson) for Painting/Carpentry Projects for Residential and Light Commercial, Interior and Exterior (N. San Antonio)

Our work is primarily in North San Antonio, stretching as far as Boerne, Canyon Lake, and New Braunfels. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather and job site conditions, which may include air borne particles, vibration, fumes, and high places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
The Foreman / Foreperson is the hardest working individual on the team that sets the team’s pace and overall quality of the project. He or She ensures that work standards, safety standards, and professional presentation are maintained during each project. They constructively correct and encourage each team member to reach a higher level of professionalism. The right candidate will be well experienced in coordinating and managing team members, managing multiple projects, ensuring safety standards are adhered to, maintaining an orderly project timeline schedule, highly knowledgeable in project-scope materials, and skilled in building client positive relationships which result in repeat business, referrals, and excellent online ratings. Projects will consist of partial and full scope work primarily in residential re-painting.
The Foreman / Foreperson works closely with the Project Manager who coordinates and manages a variety of painting and remodeling projects. This employee successfully takes the estimate / design and turns them into a reality. As a team, our Sales Representative, Project Manager and Foreman / Foreperson work together to exceed our customers’ expectations.

Responsibilities and Duties
Scheduling:
- Assists the Project Manager in coordinating, planning, and managing project schedules.
- Possess thorough knowledge of company’s contracts and understanding of all parties involved.
- Monitor job progress vs. schedule and address issues as soon as they arise.
Financial Performance:
- Order, manage, and ensure delivery of materials and equipment within the allotted budget.
- Ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
- Identify up-selling opportunities; propose these to the Project Manager and ensure Change Orders are in place before proceeding in new project scope work.
Scope Management:
- Perform quality painting and carpentry tasks.
- Ensure overall safety, technical, and skill leadership for customer’s projects.
- Possess a thorough understanding of all project materials, issues, and priorities.
- Daily coordinate work at job sites with project crew.
- Perform periodic job walks while overseeing and supervising project progress and provide internal reports on timeline, progress, and change orders.
- Supervise, motivate, and instruct team employees to ensure they are producing exceptional quality work and provide course corrections, as necessary.
Project Team Communication:
- Assist the Project Manager as necessary for hiring new crew employees.
- Participate in all necessary team meetings.
- Interfaces often with team employees to address questions or concerns on all projects.
- Develop positive working relationships and is responsive with all team members and vendors.
Customer Relationship:
- Communicates directly with customers to ensure their satisfaction while addressing their concerns and resolving issues, under the supervision and guidance of the Project Manager.
- Ensures customer satisfaction of assigned projects through managing and adhering to all company systems for quality services
- Cultivates customer relations to ensure complete satisfaction while ensuring their repeat business, referrals, and positive online reviews.
Documentation:
- Maintain all project records and monitor correspondences.
- Maintains accurate and organized calendar and records.
Other:
- Operates a motor vehicle to and from each job site, ensuring vehicle cleanliness, maintenance, and monthly records.
- Utilize company technology (computer, mobile phone, etc.) accurately while maintaining their longevity of use.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ten (10) years’ minimum experience as a Re-Painting/Carpentry Foreman / Foreperson or in a similar position in construction.
Ability to navigate stairs and walk comfortably at least 1/2 mile a day; in good physical health.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing projects successfully from start to finish.
- In-depth expertise in the re-painting industry and its safety and quality standards. Which includes for both Interior and Exterior Residential Work: Carpentry, Framing Trim Carpentry; Installing Exterior Siding, doors/windows; Drywall Repairs/Installation, extensive experience in forms of texturing; and Staining-Painting of all surfaces.
- Bilingual in conversational Spanish, fluent in English.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and managing time efficiently.
- Able to manage teams of painters/carpenters on multiple projects.
- Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets.
- Accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and self-directed.
- Technology Skills: Capable in Microsoft Word and Excel, Google Docs/Sheets, Laptop, and phone apps.
- Knowledge of local residential building codes and OSHA regulations
- Able to build solid relationships with team members, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Have excellent visual capabilities for details, colors and transitions. Provides expert color consultation.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance; must have a good driving record.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

- Strong ability to manage San Antonio streets confidently.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds.
- Additional experience and expertise a plus in the following: Carpentry Repairs, Deck-Patio Repairs and Building, Carpentry / Trim Installations, Door and Window Installations.
- Additional experience working in commercial / public contracting.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
