The Director of Student Affairs Marketing and Communications is to enrich students' lives by staying in touch with their needs, supporting their life goals, and connecting them with SJSU student services. The Director serves as the lead marketing and communications officer for the Division of Student Affairs. The Director is responsible for providing strategic communications support to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs, raising the profile of the Division of Student Affairs, staying in touch with best practices for reaching students, creating strategies to attract prospective students and engage with current students, supporting a unified approach to the campus' brand and identity guidelines within the division, providing consultation to departments and units on how best to market their programs and services to students, providing marketing communications resources and services, and managing communications vehicles that serve the entire division. The Director will be a key team member of any crisis communication planning or activations.
This role serves as the key resource for sharing best practices in electronic communications as well as social media. The Director will be integrally involved with any crisis communication related to students and/or the division.
