Solution Packaging Production Specialist

Responsible for creating a safe, clean and efficient manufacturing environment within the packaging production area of the Solution Department. Responsible for the proper set up of the case lot, insert sheet scanner, raw materials, and sublot count verifications. Ensure that all applicable packaging activities be documented correctly. Closely monitor the daily production volumes, labor efficiencies, reject rates and material usage to ensure cost controls are properly approached and production goals are met.

Under limited supervision, applies considerable complex knowledge to perform a broad range of tasks which include but are not limited to training employees; planning, assigning work location, and directing work to maintain acceptable product flow; resolving problems and interfacing between employees and supervisor.
Accurately perform all in-process testing and document the results on the Batch Production Record (BPR).
Accurately record all material usage.
Prior to the start of each shift or production lot, perform the following:

Obtain the BPR from the staging are and verify the product code, lot number and production quantity against the department production schedule.
Perform a one-over-one inspection of the equipment and area to ensure that all components from the previous lot have been removed.
Setup and/or verify the accuracy of the product board.
Perform a one-over-one verification that the entire case label is accurate and clearly legible.
Perform a one-over-one verification of the correct insert sheet.
Verify the proper production materials are staged and used.
Verify the setup and challenge the accuracy of the check weigh scale.
Work closely with the Fill Room Sr. Operator and Q.S. in connection with product quality.
Accurately compile the BPR and complete the material and lot reconciliation.
Verify all rejects are cut and destroyed.
Coordinate rework activities in accordance with applicable rework instructions.
Strive to meet and exceed scheduled production goals.
Identify equipment failures that may affect performance. Recommend and initiate effective corrective actions.
Document and report the results of any serious down time issues.
Provide management with recommendations to improve production and labor efficiencies, reject rates, material usage and employee performance.
Monitor individual employee performance and assists employees needing additional training.
Notify supervisor of general operating problems as well as employee issues, concerns and performance by advising supervisor of individual employee strengths and weaknesses.
Act as a subject matter expert. Properly train, monitor, and ensure that new employees and existing employees comprehend the training they receive.
Maintain general housekeeping of working area and plant.
Follow all Fresenius Policies.
Regular attendance and maintaining a good attendance record is an essential function of the job.
Review and comply with the Code of Business Conduct and all applicable company policies and procedures, local, state and federal laws and regulations.
Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

High School Diploma required; Associate’s Degree desirable

2 – 4 years’ related experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of manufacturing software and spreadsheet software.
