The Director of Digital Media is responsible for the team that develops and optimizes multi-channel, paid media buys. This position is also directly responsible for the development, execution, optimization, forecasting, and reporting of Helix Education’s higher education clients. This position plays a key role in driving the strategic development and growth of the paid search and paid social channels through thought leadership, innovation, and collaboration. You will be expected to identify, roll out and execute best practices across the team and accounts. You will be responsible for mentorship, growth and consistency in building and developing the digital marketing team.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

1.Develop innovative strategies to increase inquiry volume, decrease cost per acquisition and outmaneuver competition in a highly competitive environment.

2.Lead and build a team of PPC and Paid Social experts.

3.Forecast conversions and cost per acquisition goals based on budgets and marketplace data/trends.

4.Perform in depth audits to identify opportunities for clients’ campaigns.

5.Identify best practices and mentor Digital Marketing Strategists on best practices and advanced optimization tactics.

6.Implement innovative tactics in account segmentation, quality score optimization, account automation, bid optimization, keyword expansion, ad copywriting, and ad creative.

7.Understand the role and impact of Paid Search and Paid Social as part of an integrated, multi-channel marketing strategy, and how all the media channels can work together more effectively

8.Assist the web development team with creating in house scripts to automate account tactics, manage bids, optimize keyword segments, identify statistical anomalies, and utilize budgets.

9.Assist the creative and web development teams by guiding landing page development and conversion rate optimization tests.

10.Create, maintain and optimize campaigns in Google AdWords, Bing Adcenter, and paid social platforms including Facebook, Instagram, andYouTube.

11.Ensure goals are being met within budget, provide client facing trending reports and presentations, and communicate results to clients in quarterly business reviews.

12.Stay informed of new betas, tactics, and data trends within the paid search industry. Share insights with strategists and determine test methodology.


To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Experience managing accounts of $100,000+ monthly spend
  • Understanding of bid management platforms
  • A self-starter with a high-level of pride in your work product
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Extensive knowledge of Google AdWords and Bing Ads platforms
  • Experience with attribution tracking technology or platforms (Google Analytics)
  • Highly analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret performance data, analyze campaign goals, and make adjustments to key performance drivers.
  • Ability to multitask


  • B.S. in Marketing, Communications, Business or other relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience managing strategic Paid Search and Paid Social campaigns


Adwords and Bing Certifications (Required)

Analytics certification desired

Display certification desired

Blueprint certifications desired




Limited travel required.
