FAM Construction, LLC is a joint venture between Ferrovial Agroman and Allan Myers. Ferrovial has been active in the North American transportation industry since 1999. Ferrovial's experience includes some of the largest, most complex transportation projects in the United States. Allan Myers is the largest heavy civil construction company and materials provider in the Mid-Atlantic.
Together they have been awarded the Transform I-66 Outside the Beltway project, this project involves multi-modal improvements to 22.5 miles of I-66 corridor from I-495 in Fairfax County to University Boulevard in Prince William County. The project features two express lanes alongside three regular lanes in each direction, with space in the median for future transit; corridor-wide bike and pedestrian improvements; and safety and operational improvements at key interchanges throughout the corridor.
FAM is looking for someone with experience on heavy civil jobs or DOT contracts as Project Engineer, Project Manager, or equivalent. The Project Manager is involved with the planning, coordination and control of the earth and pavement construction processes.
Oversees the production process;
Ensures that the production is cost effective;
Estimates costs and sets the quality standards;
Monitors the production processes and adjusts the schedule(s) as needed;
Monitors product standards and implements quality-control programs;
Complies with all safety policies, practices and procedures;
Supervises work through the planning and scheduling of work, and the review and approval of tasks;
Management/control of subcontractors and their correspondent subcontracts; and
Performs other duties as required.
Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or equivalent;
2 to 5 years of highway, bridge, road or runway experience as a Project Manager or Sr. Project Manager is required;
Experience in coordinating multidisciplinary teams (design and construction engineers, superintendents, inspectors);
Experience on large highway, bridge/structures, paving, and/or utility relocation projects;
Experience with bridge projects is preferred;
Excellent command of Microsoft Excel;
Cost control and scheduling experience;
Proven experience in managing and directing people; and
Experience managing a budget is required.
