Looking for somewhere to grow? Humane Society of Marion County Animal Clinic is looking to add experienced Veterinary Technicians to our team. We are a brand new low cost, high volume animal clinic opening to the public. Shifts are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm surgical days start at 7:00am. Starting pay $16.00+ depending on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Triage of incoming animals
- Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
- Assists with surgery and other veterinary procedures.
- Reports urgent cases to the veterinarian; and monitors patient progress.
- Provides professional and respectful client education and service to staff, volunteers, and the general public as needed.
- Performing laboratory testing including blood draws, urinalysis, cytology's
- Comfortable giving IM, SQ, and IV injections
- Experience using proper restraint techniques on animals
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be passionate about animals
- 1 year Experience as a Veterinary Technician
- Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi- Tasker and Strong Communicator
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Accesses animals in cages and carriers.
- Lifts and moves up to 50 pounds.
- Possible extended periods of sitting and/or standing and repetitive motion.
- May be exposed to animal blood, urine, feces, saliva, fur and dander; zoonotic disease,'
