DESCRIPTION
As a part of our GIS Team, the GIS Specialist / GIS Analyst performs spatial data collection, analysis, management and formatting; map production; database updates; and feature extraction as well as application development and scripting under the supervision of a project manager or GIT department manager.

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
You’ll need 4-7 years of experience with geospatial concepts and GIS software. Experience with GIS data collection, management, analysis, and reporting is required. Knowledge of scripting and application development techniques is a plus.
You will need a bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Additional consideration will be given to master’s degrees in a related field.
To be successful, you’ll need to be bright, organized, and determined; you’ll also need to be able to build relationships with a wide variety of people. You will need the ability to multitask and prioritize competing project obligations.
Excellent English language skills, written and verbal, are essential to long term success in this role.
You’ll need to be able to quickly get up to speed on our policy, procedures and relevant software while acquiring an understanding of the company’s service offerings, and the client’s standards and procedures relevant to your projects.
Naturally, you’ll need computer skills (Microsoft Office), and be proficient with GIS and data processing software, especially the Esri ArcGIS suite of products. Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access), and Esri ArcGIS extensions is also desired. Experience with ArcGIS Online and Portal is a strong plus.
