Position provides routine practical nursing work in the care and treatment of patients under nursing supervision within a state correctional facility. Work includes assisting the RN by participating in nursing assessment in accordance with the Board of Nursing scope of practice and by utilizing written policies and procedures. The position screens patients and obtains pertinent medical data, collects vital signs and specimens, administers/interprets TB skin tests, assists the RN and Physician as needed, administers medications, observes and records pertinent information, and responds to emergencies. Individuals may be required to work all shifts, weekends and holidays.
Management prefers applicants with at least one (1) year of experience as an LPN, good computer skills, and experience working in a correctional setting.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Licensed to practice as a Practical Nurse in the state of North Carolina.
