North Central Machine in Appleton is looking for a qualified machinist to set up, program, and operate a Fanuc based CNC lathe. This is a full-time, 1st shift position, not a general labor or startup. Only qualified and experienced machinists need to apply. This is a job shop environment, not a production machining facility.
A programming and skills test will be given during interview. If you are unable to use or unfamiliar with G&M programming, please do not apply.
Duties and responsibilities to include:
- Ability to setup, program (at control), and operate CNC and manual lathe.
- Typical work includes new parts, along with journal / roll repairs.
- Program at the machine, be proficient at G and M code, offline programming is available for more complex parts if needed.
- Must be able to select proper tooling, speeds and feeds for machining of mild steel, stainless, aluminum, plastics.
- Must be able to quickly and efficiently setup lathes including CNC and manual.
- Have a good knowledge of blueprint interpretation and be able to hold listed tolerances.
- Have basic machinist's measuring tools (calipers, scales, 1-3" mics, etc)
- Have minimum of 5 years floor experience, setup and running lathes.
- Maintain an efficient and clean workspace, and do periodic machine maintenance.
- Be on time and reliable
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Qualified hires will start at $25-$35/hr +, depending on level of expertise. Health, Vacation, 401k. All will be discussed during an interview.
