About the Position

Regional Eye Associates, the premier eye care provider in Northcentral West Virginia and Western Maryland, is seeking highly qualified CEO candidates. The successful candidate will have a unique opportunity to further develop a thriving, physician-owned multi-specialty eye care group. Regional Eye’s physicians and surgeons provide medical and surgical care for cataracts, glaucoma, retina problems, cornea problems, and oculofacial plastic surgery. Our internationally known physicians are leaders within their field who have earned the trust and confidence of patients through decades of highly precise and compassionate care. Regional Eye has two large optical shops, a contemporary ambulatory surgical center with state-of-the-art equipment. With over a dozen physicians, over 125 highly skilled employees and locations throughout Northcentral West Virginia and Western Maryland, Regional Eye embraces a prominent presence in the ophthalmic community.

Our corporate office is located in scenic Morgantown, West Virginia. Morgantown is located along the Monongahela River and is close to the Pennsylvania border with Pittsburgh a mere hour away. Morgantown’s green surroundings and proximity to water lend it to being one of the best locations for outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, skiing, and boating. Morgantown has consistently seen some of the lowest unemployment rates in West Virginia and is one of the major economic growth areas in the State. With Morgantown being home to West Virginia University, a large civic center, several theaters, and a thriving downtown, our community offers many local opportunities for sports, the arts, and social events. Of the top three highest ranked public schools in West Virginia, two of them are located in Morgantown.

Qualifications/Skills/Requirements:

  • A highly positive temperament and strong dedication to goal attainment.
  • Calm demeanor, exceptional listening skills, and the ability to demonstrate integrity and a fair approach to conflict resolution.
  • Strong operational and financial management skills, including understanding of financial statements and standard accounting principles, and budgetary experience.
  • Creative, idea-generating thinking, with excellent follow-through.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to express himself/herself in writing and orally with clarity and professionalism.
  • Transparent, collaborative, and consensus building approach to working with others.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • A Master’s degree in medical administration, business, or a related area, desired.
  • At least ten years’ management experience in medical group practice, required. Prior experience as CEO of a large/complex, privately held and physician owned ophthalmology group is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, managed care plans, and medical computer billing systems.
  • Financial knowledge of accounting to direct the operation of a computerized general ledger, A/P, A/R, and payroll.
